Erasing My Facebook Account to Avoid Unsolicited Messages from a Former Boyfriend

I used to hate social networking sites. I thought getting involved with these sites is only a waste of time and it can’t do anything good for its users. However, when my sister taught me how to start off with this social networking site, I immediately became fond of it. I love how it helps me get in touch with my friends and relatives. I get to have a small chit chat even with people who are currently in distant locations. This allows me to keep myself posted about the latest happening s in their lives and share my experiences with them, as well. However, recently, a former boyfriend is trying to keep in touch with me through Facebook. I no longer want to talk to him but I do not want to be rude and just neglect his messages. But how can i erase my facebook account? I am certain that there is a way I can carry this out. Maybe I’ll ask my sister if this possible and let her teach me how to have this done.
